Kimberley’s Blog: The month of the unexpected

Hey team,

I am back in LA and on the mend. Sorry I have been a bit MIA. I went home to New Zealand and got really sick. I am still not 100% and it will be a process but I am feeling much better. Thank you for all the sweet messages on social media.

I feel like this life chapter I have been in has come to an end and I am ready to take things to the next level. Being sick has given me a bit of time to really gain some perspective and relook at my goals. I am learning to not wait for other people or make excuses why I can’t start today when it comes to new projects I want to embark on. I am in control of my schedule and in control of who and what I give my time to. Too often I find myself pleasing other people and doing things that don’t serve me.

I always feel re-charged after some quality family time and it could be because my Mum is incredible and looks after me so well I often wonder why I ever left home! I eat better and tend to relax more – something that I am still working on in LA the city never slows down and there is always more you can be doing so finding a balance is still on my to do list. The highlights of being home was seeing my niece and nephews and spending time at the farm with the baby lambs. Cuteness alert.

While I was home I visited the boys Jono and Ben and started development on a new comedy series with Media Works – watch this space!

My sister Rochelle flew back to LA with me, which was by far one of my 2015 highlights. It isn’t too often we get alone time together. She is my rock and her strength, courage and super woman attitude is so fun to be around. We are both heading to Vegas next month for a week and I am counting the days till she returns!

The Vans US Surf Open is on at the moment in Huntington Beach. I am feeling more confident with my skating too which is good considering almost 1 million people flock to Huntington over the event weekend so skating becomes the most popular mode of transport!

Have a wonderful week and looking forward to another busy LA week ahead.
