#myoneword: Tell us your one word declaration and go in the draw to WIN

The team at Triumph and their new campaign is all about one-word declarations. Find out my one word declaration for 2016 and how you can win a prize pack.

My word for 2016 is Fearless. The goal is to live a life out of love not fear. I have been eradicating fear from my life for a couple of years now by acknowledging what scares me and doing it any way. What I began to feel was quite remarkable. When you step outside your comfort zone and do things that make your stomach turn, your palms sweat and your throat feel tight and power through that emotion, I can honestly say that what lies on the other side is addictive. It is the feeling of growth, accomplishment and joy.
I have become addicted to living fearlessly.

The change for me is I now run towards things that scare me because I know once I break through that feeling, my comfort zone would have stretched that much further. With that brings confidence and the knowledge that everything will be ok.

Being fearless doesn’t just mean taking part in crazy physical activities either. I started by doing some Stand Up at the local comedy club. I was petrified, BUT the rewarding feeling after coming off stage was unlike anything I had felt before. I had built up in my head how terrifying it would be to stand on stage for 10 minutes and tell jokes but in reality it was actually loads of fun. Stand Up might not be something you want to tick off; maybe it could be having a pending conversation that you have been avoiding? I challenge you all to really take on the word FEARLESS as your word for 2016 and live outside your comfort zone.

Pushing myself to be fearless has changed my life for the better. I am now more comfortable in settings that would have previously made me nervous. I know that when I am nervous or fearful there is a reason and once I overcome it I will grow and learn. Nothing can stop you once you are living fearless!

Fearless to me means confident, bold, passionate, strong, driven and unstoppable.

Don’t have anything that holds you back. What could you achieve if you had no limits on yourself? That is what it really means to be fearless. To be limitless.

One of my favorite quotes is ‘be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire”. I love this because I am chasing a dream and when you have a goal that you are striving for, you have to be willing to step outside your comfort zone often. You have to be ready to bust through an obstacle in your way and by being fearless in life only makes it easier.

So give it a go! Start small. Ask yourself the following questions: What are some of your fears? Is there one you can tick off right away?

So go for it…go bungee jumping, set a goal or sign up for a ½ marathon? What ever it is, go and tick it off now and see how you feel. Embrace growth and change within yourself!

Have fun and live fearless!

  1. My word is Dare. I find it easier to ‘dare’ myself to do things that are scary as that makes them seem like less of a challenge and more fun. I have therefore set myself a list of 50 personal things I want to achieve this year – some of them are big and some are small but I know that I will feel so much accomplishment and growth as a person by setting goals and working towards them. I have read your book KIm and like to use you as motivation as someone who is fearless and happy to give anything a go : )
