May Favourites

May! Fifth month of the year already, phew. Winter has definitely arrived and things are in full-swing post:Easter/schools break.

This month we jump on board the annual NZ Music Month, a trip that’s not too far from the city, a motivational speaker and the Avengers: End Game is here.

Music: NZ Music Month
It’s May so the annual NZ Music Month is in full swing. It’s so important to support your local music/creative scene – go to the shows, stream the music and share the goodness around! I listen to a bunch of different kiwi music as we have so many talented people in this country. To name a few that you should check out (if you haven’t already…) and add to your playlist stat are Drax Project, Broods, Nomad, Theia, Amelia, Written by Wolves, Jess B, Kings, Robinson, Bene, Abby Christo and Stan Walker.

Travel: Rotorua, New Zealand
I’ve had many weekend adventures in Rotorua in my life so far, it’s an easy getaway from Auckland (although the smell hits you reaaaal good!) and it’s fun to ‘play tourist’essentially in a different town. They’ve got the luge with multiple different tracks, a bungy swing, buffet meals and gondola rides and we’re just getting started…now that Winter has seriously rolled around – the Polynesian Spa would be a must.

Book: Humble the Poet – Unlearn: 101 Simple Truths for a Better Life
I first discovered Humble the Poet when he was collaborating with inspirational bestselling author, YouTuber and all-round girl boss Lilly Singh (iiSuperWomanii) who says of Unlearn, “this book is the straight-talking best friend that everyone needs.”The guy behind the extraordinary artist, Kanwer Singh has put pen to paper, sharing his 101 lessons which wants readers to take that invitation ‘to a new beginning and to pursue a life of fulfilment.’Unlearnis out this month.

Film: Avengers: End Game
The time has officially come. The Avengers team left the Marvel universe on the biggest cliffhanger in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War and now Avengers: End Game is here to finish it all. I’ve been to see it with the chaotic packed crowds on opening weekend, and highly recommend it – even though it’s three hours long (phew!) I won’t write too much more about it (Thanos still demands your silence) except it’s just cinematic greatness that needs to be seen…#DontSpoilTheEndgame

Quote: Anon

Life is a full-on rollercoaster at all times so it’s important to take positives out of each day and hustle harder for what you really want. “You often feel tired, not because you’ve done too little of what sparks a light in you.”
