March Favourites 2023

Happy March! This month we say goodbye to Summer (the little we did have of it…) and welcome the Autumn season which hopefully has some sunny days on the horizon!

In this month’s faves blog, we share Mimi Webb’s new album, Rupi Kaur’s guided book and tour to NZ, the new mysterious flick Missing, smoothie bowls and an account to follow.

What to listen to: Mimi Webb

UK singer Mimi Webb has just dropped her debut album, Amelia (which is actually her real name!). The record features previously released singles House On Fire and Ghost of You plus latest tune Red Flags, which is sure to get stuck in your head. I saw Mimi perform live a few months back at Auckland’s Powerstation and I reckon she’s definitely one to watch – Amelia is available to stream now. Image – Mimi Webb

What to read: Rupi Kaur – Healing Through Words
Incredible poet and creative Rupi Kaur’s fourth book Healing Through Words takes readers on a guided journey filled with curated exercises that anyone can get involved in – just need to start writing! The #1 New York Times best selling author has also added two NZ stops (Auckland and Wellington) to her world tour later this month, head to Live Nation’s website for more details of how you get amongst and see Rupi live! Image – Rupi Kaur

What to watch: Missing
The trailer for this film has popped up on my feed a few times over the past week and I guess my ‘for you’ recommendations know I like a bit of a mystery, as that’s the category this new cinema movie seems to fall into. What would you do if a loved one went missing and the authorities couldn’t help you? From the editors of 2018’s SearchingEuphoria’s Storm Reid stars in MissingImage – Flicks

What to eat: Smoothie Bowls
I’m a big fan of smoothie bowls as they’re a bit more fun than your average smoothie and you can tailor it to whatever you want! Take this Morning Smoothie Bowl recipe (by Pams) for example – combining bananas, mixed berries, alternative milk and kiwifruit (very good for your gut!) together. Would love to know what your smoothie go-to ingredients are! https://www.pams.co.nz/recipes/morning-smoothie-bowl Image – Pams

Who to follow: Maisie Peters

Maisie Peters is a UK singer-songwriter who has been of late, touring with Ed Sheeran. She recently played sold-out headline shows here in NZ alongside taking the stage at Ed’s huge stadium events. Besides loving her music, I enjoy following her as I love seeing a behind-the-scenes look into touring and overall creativity, plus the great bond she has with her fans means this content is aplenty. @maisiepeters – Image: Maisie Peters
