July Favourites

Happy seventh month of the year – phew…yes we really are THAT much closer to another Christmas/New Years season, it’s all a bit mental eh!

This July we celebrate NZ music success internationally with Drax Project, exploring the USA, a new book release to follow up a successful original and a 90’s film franchise makes an epic comeback.

Music: Drax Project
Kiwi group Drax Project have had a massive 2019 already and we’re only six months in! Off the back of their successful remix featuring American singer Hailee Steinfield to their hit song Woke Up Late, they added more streams with a music video starring popular internet personality Liza Koshy which has amassed over 12 million views on YouTube. Drax continue taking over international waters after being added as support to Christina Aguilera’s Europe tour before heading home later this month for a sold-out Auckland show off the back of their new single, All This Time.

Travel: New Orleans
You may have seen glimpses of the New Orleans sights on TV (including NCIS: New Orleans – pictured) or heard about it’s Mardi Gras celebrations…What you may not have discovered yet is there is over 130 festivals each year to get amongst – music is literally everywhere! There’s also lots of classic food spots and famous eats to get involved in and taking in the different suburbs sights from the architecture to the art, New Orleans should be on your USA list.

Book: Everything is F***** – Mark Manson
The author of the international bestsellerThe Subtle Art of Not Giving A F***has blessed us once again with his new book, Everything is F***** – A Book About Hope. The new release follows on from the first in this two part book series, highlighting the pros and cons of the world we live in right now, including the author’s take on ‘everyone is perpetually offended on Twitter.’The book already has over 4.5 stars on Amazon and you can judge it for yourself as Everything is F***** is out in all stores now.

Film: Toy Story 4
90’s kids can officially rejoice with the long awaited fourth Toy Story film bringing back iconic animation characters Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (voiced by Tim Allen) to embark on another wild journey with their toy friends. What will the new toy Forky (ha) add to the crew? The latest instalment in the multi-Oscar winning franchise is in cinemas now and would be definitely worth adding to the winter watch list for young and‘old’audiences.
