Best of January

Twenty Eighteen! We are officially ringing in the New Year with new music from Camila Cabello, Zac Efron and Zendaya’s latest flick The Greatest Showman and Bring It On’s Gabrielle Union’s best selling book.

Music: Camila Cabello
After her departure from girl group Fifth Harmony just twelve months ago, Camila Cabello has proven after a big 2017 that she’s here to shake up the music world. Camila’s debut solo record is due for release next week, following the success of collaborations with Machine Gun Kelly and Major Lazer. The self titled album features Havana, which has had over a billion streams and held the number one spot on charts throughout the world.

Travel: Vancouver
The most populated Canadian area boasts picturesque views so it comes as no surprise that it is often used as a backdrop for your favourite films and television shows. From exploring the city’s parks and landmarks to cruising on the water, Vancouver makes it easy to love it’s current cold climate.

Book: Gabrielle Union – We’re Going to Need More Wine
Many of us still remember Gabrielle Union in one of the iconic 2000’s films, Bring It On as Isis, the the Clovers head cheerleader. (Brrr it’s cold in here!) She’s since appeared in various television series and movies before putting pen to paper, becoming a New York Times bestseller for We’re Going to Need More Wine: Stories That Are Funny, Complicated, and True. Gabrielle opens up to share provoking essays about Hollywood, beauty, sexuality, race, gender and the modern woman.

Film: The Greatest Showman
The Greatest Showman has just swung into cinemas. It took Hugh Jackman and director Michael Gracey many years to get the project green lighted but boy, are we glad they did. They are joined by a stellar cast including Zac Efron and Zendaya who are musically outstanding. The original soundtrack – which has received a Golden Globe nomination, will have you miming along in no time. Plus if you’re in for a double whammy of musical flicks, Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Hailee Steinfield are back on screens now for Pitch Perfect 3.

If you haven’t watched already, I highly recommend spending some time investing in Demi Lovato’s raw and honest Simply Complicated documentary which is available on YouTube.
