*What was the inspiration for your project / company and how long had you been working on it before launching?
I have been in the hair industry for 10 years. I have always loved helping women feel their most confident when they leave my chair. My hope is that every person who sits in my chair feels safe and accepted to be themselves.
*Can you share with us what a typical day looks like for you?
I usually take my mornings slow before heading to the salon at 9am. I try my best to get to the gym 3 to 4 days a week. My workout of choice recently has been pilates. It hasn’t taken long for me to become obsessed. I am an early to bed person which means my day is done by 9:30 and I am in bed with my nose in a book.
*The industry that you’re in now, was that always a career pathway you wanted to explore? And if not always, what sparked your initial interest?
Yes, as far back as I can remember I wanted to be a hairdresser. Kindergarten Morgan was already very sure of her future career.
*Do you have a highlight experience from your years of work in the creative space?
I started my own business in 2019 and had that for 5 years. I am so proud of myself for launching something at a young age.
*Can you share something that may surprise people about what could go on behind the scenes of your work?
I can’t technically bring work home with me but I will continually think about my clients, whether it is the stories they shared or the way their hair turned out.
*Where would we find you in your spare time?
I don’t need much to have a good time. You can find me with friends or family hanging outside grilling or mixing up a fun drink.
*Best advice you’ve ever been given?
“You were made for this”
Being self-employed can be discouraging at times and I am constantly reminding myself that I can do this, I did it yesterday and I will do it again tomorrow. Being proud of myself is half the battle for me. I love what I do and am so grateful for my abilities.
