It’s August! Winter really feels like it is in full swing here so for some indoor activities… read on for a podcast to listen to, All Black legend Sam Whitelock’s new book, the latest in the Marvel universe to watch, and more!
What to listen to: Everybody Has A Secret Podcast
Snippets of this podcast have been coming up on my ‘for you’ page lately and yes, you probably guessed it – the concept of the podcast is essentially in the name ‘everybody has a secret’. Every Friday new episodes drop, hosted by Annabelle Lee and Louis Hanson, and they share people’s real-life secrets to discuss those experiences and man, some of them are so truly wild!? What to read: Sam Whitelock – View from the Second Row
All Blacks legend Sam Whitelock has notched up a very impressive sporting career including 153 games in the AB’s jersey (most capped player!), appeared in 4 World Cups and 9 Super Rugby finals. In his autobiography, View from the Second Row, Sam shares about his journey over the years including ‘family and farming’ and his incredible ‘footy’ experience. The book is out now. What to watch: Deadpool & Wolverine
It may not be surprising that this film is currently at the top of the NZ Box Office after its release last week but I think the latest movie in the Marvel universe is worth a watch! It’s a version of Deadpool & Wolverine that you haven’t seen before… The banter Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have on and off screen is really something else plus the cameos… (I’ll say no more than that, no spoilers here!) What to eat: Homemade pizza in Winter
With the weather at times in the single digits (temperature-wise), hot comfort meals should probably be at the top of the menu! One of those for me is a homemade pizza (a classic) – you can chuck on things you’ve got in your fridge or plan out your favorite toppings! You can make your base or pick up some from the shops – my faves to make at the moment are the classic Hawaiian (and no I will not be up for a debate about pineapple on a pizza… lol) or a Chicken & Cranberry moment. Here’s another option if you want something different to try: https://dish.co.nz/recipes/friday-night-pizza-sunday/

You’ll likely know content creator Leenda Dong from her comedic videos online – this is her additional account that I found linked in the bio of her 5 million-strong creator page – @feelgoodlittlenotes may look simple in design but it is the messaging that counts!
