What to listen to: Nicole Byer’s podcast
American comedian Nicole Byer’s podcast ‘Why Won’t You Date Me?’ tackles the ups and downs of relationships, dating and the ‘quest for love’, with her own hilarious navigation of course. Nicole sits down each week alongside one of her fellow comedians plus experts to discuss it all – you can listen to new episodes every Friday on your favourite podcast streaming platform!

What to read: The House of My Mother – Shari Franke
Best selling book The House of My Mother – A Daughter’s Quest for Freedom is out now on shelves. It has heavy themes, but contains a journey that Shari Franke gets to share in her own words. You may recognise the name – she’s the eldest daughter of Ruby Franke, the mother of ‘8 Passengers’ who horrified people all around the world when the family vlogger’s hidden abuse was uncovered. Shari shares in the book how ‘in the face of unimaginable pain, she found freedom and healing’.

They meet people from different walks of life and explore relationships and dating in this day in age – both Brynley and Kura are hilarious as well, so you know it’s going to be a fun watch! Who to follow: @selfcare4yu
Another gem I stumbled upon on my explore page and I’ve had their posts saved ever since – one that caught my eye was the ‘funny images to make you smile’. I swiped through and they did make me chuckle a bit as some were relatable and even when you’re having ‘a day’, seeing posts like those can lighten the mood for even mere moments is good in my books. Check out their Instagram page for more – @selfcare4yu
