July 2024 Faves

Happy July – it’s crazy that we’re already halfway through the month, it is flying by! This month we share Sharyn Casey’s new podcast, WWE star Becky Lynch’s book, the NZ International Film Festival is about to kick off and Restaurant Month returns.

What to listen to: Sharyn Casey’s new podcast
The Edge’s Sharyn Casey has launched her new podcast Better Me (Hopefully), which is self-described as ‘the wellness podcast for people who hate wellness podcasts’ and a podcast for those that are ‘tired of the unrealistic portrayals of wellness and self-improvement on social media’. She’s already got a few episodes live to get your ears around that carry Sharyn’s candid and refreshing perspective. Check it out online now! Image: Rova

What to read: Becky Lynch – The Man: Not Your Average Girl
Rebecca Quin a.k.a Becky Lynch is known for her fierce moves in the WWE ring and being a multi-time champion. She has released The Man: Not Your Average Girl which covers everything from her childhood to now, including how her love for wrestling from a young age set her on what could be considered an unusual path. The best selling book is available now.

What to watch: NZ International Film Festival
The Whānau Mārama New Zealand International Film Festival (NZIFF) has returned for 2024 and there is a stellar programme on offer. 86 feature films and 19 shorts have made this year’s line-up, with the festival set to kick off in Wellington later this month before it jets off to nine regions across Aotearoa including Auckland and Christchurch. Check out the full programme on their website now – nziff.co.nz. Image: NZIFF – We Were Dangerous

What to eat: Restaurant Month 2024
Restaurant Month returns to Auckland in a few weeks! It may be Winter, but I reckon it’s the perfect time to warm up your tastebuds with over 100 special menus and a bunch of dining events like the Chef’s Table series. There’s so many different flavours across the city to experience, something for everyone to choose from (or try a few)! Image: Heart of the City Auckland

Who to follow: @connorandyvonne
A-boo! You’ll likely have spotted this duo on TikTok and I don’t know if it is the accents and/or their funny banter, but their videos on their couple account @connorandyvonne plus their personal accounts are so fun to watch, I highly recommend checking them out if you haven’t already!
