November 2024 Faves

Happy November – the second to last month of the year is here which means summer is on the horizon! This month we chat about the Sweet Bobby podcast, Bree Tomasel’s awesome new book, Anna Kendrick’s directorial debut, Bake with Brooki (literally) and cute giraffe content!

What to listen to: Sweet Bobby
‘How much do you know about the person you love?’ You’ve likely seen series like MTV’s Catfish – Sweet Bobby shares a catfish experience on a crazy different level. We’re talking about an 8 year relationship, 60 fictional characters, impersonating real people and more. Kirat’s story has also now been turned into a Netflix documentary film, Sweet Bobby: My Catfish Nightmare based on the chart-topping podcast. For the full low down, you can check out the investigative podcast episodes.

What to read: UnApologetically Me by Bree Tomasel
You’ll know this loveable Aussie born, NZ based radio and TV personality from the laughs and great chats she brings to the airwaves but what you may not know is the journey Bree Tomasel took to reach this point. I loved reading UnApologetically Me, a book that had insightful, empowering and relatable points. I highly recommend picking up a copy!

What to watch: Woman of the Hour

Anna Kendrick has knocked her directorial debut out of the park, in more ways than one (if you’ve seen her recent interviews around this film’s release you’ll know what she’s doing with her proceeds from the movie!). Woman of the Hour is a thriller, based on the true brazen story of serial killer Rodney Alcala. It is really well done, and I recommend giving it a watch – it is streaming on Netflix now.

What to eat: Bake with Brooki
You’ve seen her on your socials and now you can bake just like her as Brooke Bellamy of Brisbane-based Brooki Bakehouse has just released her book! Hot off the press, in stores now, the book has 100 recipes so you can get your bake on, making ‘delectable sweet treats’ for any occasion (and that occasion may be right now where you’re craving a bit of sugar!). Which recipe to delve into first (the book has those chunky cookies, cupcakes, cheesecakes, layer cakes and more) is the question…
