Burnout is real, and the only remedy is rest. (and a moment alone)

Day 8 of the 12 Days of Xmas: 12 Lessons I Have Learnt

I feel like everyone (for the most part) has reached capacity in what has been, in many ways, a good but also challenging year. Almost everyone I know is currently at capacity emotionally, physically, and definitely mentally.

So how can we help ourselves and those around us, especially over the festive season, when we’re often in social situations or cohabiting for long periods of time?

Here’s what I’ve read:

  1. Have moments in the day for everyone to recharge individually.
  2. Have grace. Things will inevitably go wrong—people might show up late, not feel 100%, etc. Meet people where they are.
  3. Be kind to yourself. Give your body what it needs to function: good food, some sleep, and plenty of water!

I don’t know if this is helpful, but I know I’m currently medicating with caffeine.

Any other tips? Please share below so we can all help each other.
