Kimberley’s Blog: Hobbit fever

Hey team,

Wow this past week has been EPIC and there is really no better word to describe it!

I have been rehearsing for MEGACHRISTMAS the play I am doing at the Basement theatre in the middle of December! I hope some of you can come along, it is a little risqué but very funny!

I was lucky enough to head down to Matamata to open the Gate House and Hobbiton. It was spectacular, there were performances from local bands and dance groups, a street party and even the Prime Minister came along to celebrate with the town who have been working so hard to get Hobbiton ready for the release of the movie this month. If you have not been to Hobbiton before – you must go, even if you are not a fan of the movies, it is a true experience that everyone enjoys. My family came down with me and we had the best time!

I wrapped up the week with a day in Matakana with some of my best friends and attended Our House festival. I am a huge Calvin Harris fan and he did not disappoint. He played all of his hits combined with some amazing lighting effects, there was not one person standing still in the huge crowd! It was so much fun!

The book tour is still in full swing and I can honestly say that this has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Meeting so many talented and beautiful people who are so polite, gracious and filled with gratitude has been uplifting and inspiring. I wanted to thank everyone who I have met so far on our tour, you are all so precious to me and thank you so much for your support with the book.

Lots of love

Kimberley xx
