Kimberley’s Blog: Highs, Lows and Anticipation

Hey Team,

This week was a mix of highs, lows and anticipation. I am reading a new book, which I would thoroughly recommend – The Greatest Salesman in the World – OG Mandino. In the book there is a great quote “Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough”. Don’t let set backs set you back. Failure is a vital part of success.

I had a few big auditions this week and a pitch meeting for a show my bestie Katie and I created. Being my first week back in LA I felt myself getting a little nervous and over thinking some things. I let doubt creep in a bit and had that nasty little voice that is in all of us get to me. Despite the fact that I recognise when this is happening I still gave in to it a bit. Annoyed I had let myself get consumed by my own thoughts I made sure I got outside. That is my best advice when you experience yourself being a prisoner of your own thoughts. Get busy, fast!

Doubt got washed away as soon as I got active and cleared my head. Katie and I watched a great TED talk about power poses which although is rather funny it actually is helpful and educational if you need to ‘fake it till you become it’. Watch here.

The pitch went well and it was rewarding to see our project that we have been working on for over a year take its next step. Watch this space…. We released a sketch today, a Pepper the Pig parody. Watch here.

I’m looking forward to the week ahead in LA. Planning to get out and skate a bit more this week and join everyone else and watch Making of a Murderer.

Have a great week team.

Kimberley xx
